Dr. Michael Bussmann’s keynote address at ICPP ’24, Gotland, Sweden

We are excited to share that Dr. Michael Bussmann (Founding manager of CASUS, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), code owner and key member of Plasma-PEPSC ) delivered a keynote speech “Exascale computing solutions inspired by plasma physics simulations” at the 53rd International conference on Parallel Processing (ICPP ’24) held at Gotland, Sweden on August 12-15, 2024.

Dr. Bussmann spoke on the importance of high fidelity plasma simulations and their future in the exascale era. He highlighted the role of HZDR in developing algorithms and libraries facilitating the movement of their plasma simulation code PIConGPU to the exascale era. Optimizing the performance of four plasma codes including PIConGPU on European exascale systems is one of the primary objectives of Plasma-PEPSC .
