The task of extreme-data analytics for plasma simulations is carried out by work package 4. The overall goal for Work Package 4, led by UL, is:
“focusing on the challenges of data and I/O with respect to computation speeds and on related analytics for plasma simulations on exascale systems. In essence, this WP’s goal is to provide solutions for near-real-time feedback on exascale plasma simulations based on on-the-fly (in-situ) data analysis and data reduction.”
The following goals express the vision for WP4 more specifically:
● Addressing the challenges of data I/O with respect to computation speeds and associated data analytics for plasma simulation results on exascale systems.
● The WP focuses on efficient parallel I/O, in-situ data analytics (provide solutions for near-real-time feedback on exascale plasma simulations) and compression algorithms.
